WHY GET INVOLVED?

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

This project addresses the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action; specifically #88 & #89 in providing the Songhees & Esquimalt Nations with access to a turf field for their community programming. As well, the project would also benefit the T-Bird youth soccer group & the Native Indian Football Association (NIFA).

ADDRESSING NEEDS

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

A turf field at Spectrum Community School provides a much needed resource for the community at large. Programs can run while eliminating waitlists for a variety of sports. Turf stakeholders are not the only ones to benefit from this asset as the field will be able to be rented by various sport and activity groups.

COMMUNITY BENEFIT

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

COMMUNITY BENEFIT

Along with benefitting indigenous groups, reconciliation and sports associations, the field will create a home for KidSport Greater Victoria programming in partnership with Spectrum's Athletic Leadership Program. The partnership aims to provide low-cost / cost-recovery programming in one of Victoria's most challenging demographics which will directly support those most vulnerable in our society.
